Drying Your Hair

Keep in mind, just as the rest of our body changes as we age, so does hair. It is natural for hair to lose some moisture, to change texture and to go gray. You may even experience a texture change, like curly to straight, or vice versa. If the way your hair has changed has you concerned, bring it up with your physician. Remember that overusing any type of device, like a curling iron, can cause your hair to become damaged. To protect the follicles on your hair, use a serum or cream prior to using heated products. Such products place a buffer between your hair and the heat.

Because brushing and combing your hair breaks up loose skin on your scalp, it can help your hair to grow more quickly. Furthermore, it works to break apart clogged pores that can halt the growth of new hair. Make a habit of making 100 passes through your hair every day to stimulate its roots. If you swim regularly, be certain to get your hair wet before going in the pool that will mean that your hair absorbs less of the chlorinated water. Also, if you don't want to swim with a cap on, you should wash your hair as soon as you get out of the pool to keep damage at a minimum. Exercise moderation in your use of styling products in order to preserve your hair's health. Hairspray, gels and other types of products can dry your locks out if you use them too much. Reserve them for days when you really need to have your hair looking its best and you will never have to worry about over drying your hair.
